If we were asked 10 years ago about comments on pinots from New Zealand, it would be negative. But in recent years, we are seeing a lot more outstanding pinots from New Zealand. Besides the very boutique and sought after region of Central Otago, the Marlborough is making nice pinots now. And then we have Bishops Head estate, coming from the Waipara Valley, which are making exceptional pinots and whites such as Riesling and Pinot Gris. This pinot is a very good example of the new wave of great New Zealand wines.
